MAC AIDS Fund “Viva Glam” frontwoman and pop star Lady Gaga has evolved into a powerful spokeswoman for safe sex over the last year. She has made regular appearances on daily talk shows promoting safe sex, and made statements to international press outlets about the value of safe sex and strong self-esteem. And now, she’s got her own free condom campaign.
Lady Gaga’s recent interview with London news source Daily Mail revealed that free condoms will now be available at her concerts. “If you are ready, there are free condoms given away at my concerts when you’re leaving,” she said.
[A sidenote about free condoms: Did you know you can get 10 free condoms and 10 packets of lube mailed directly to you if you live in Washington, D.C.? Click here to place an order! Also, free condoms are available at any location where you see the logo on the right.]
Along with this message of protection, Lady Gaga also voiced her personal support for abstinence for herself and for others who are not ready for sex. “I’m single right now and I’ve chosen to be single because I don’t have the time to get to know anybody,” Lady Gaga said. “So it’s okay not to have sex, it’s okay to get to know people. I’m celibate, celibacy’s fine.”
